Yin Yoga is a meditative and slow-paced style of yoga where postures are held for longer periods of time, ranging from 1 – 5 minutes. Yin focuses on awareness of inner silence, and brings to light a universal interconnecting quality. The poses are seated with moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body – Tendons, Fascia and Ligaments, which increase circulation in the joints and improve flexibility. This series of classes is suitable for all levels, including those new to yoga or simply, “yin curious.”
Yin Yoga is led by Joy Yackley, who is certified in Kundalini Yoga and Yin Yoga. Joy is a healing sound facilitator, yoga teacher and leads Gong Immersion Meditations. The Yin Yoga Series is offered every Wednesday in February – 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th – from 10 – 11:15 a.m. You may attend one session or all. Each is offered by suggested donation of $10-$15 per class or as affordable. No one is turned away. ALL proceeds go to Rising Tide.
