    Another name for this Realization is Perfect Relaxation. All problems are of a tense nature. So anything that arises in life which disturbs our Peace has come as our Teacher saying until you learn to have Peace in this situation you have further to Journey to Awaken. We will practice “Making Life the Teacher”.

    Further, if we reflect deeply, nearly all the problems of the day are caused by our disturbing emotions; fear, anger, jealousy, hatred, pride and so on. Naturally then, Loving Kindness and Compassion are the antipode for the world’s problems. We will work on nurturing Loving Kindness and Compassion toward self and other.

    Our retreat will include Dances of Universal Peace, breath, sound and meditation along with dialogue to help us in our service to support all beings in all realms, including our selves, to awaken.

    Schedule:
    8:30am – Coffee & registration
    9:30am – 12:30pm: Morning Session
    12:30-3:00pm: Community Lunch (Middle Eastern made by Sheikha Laila Manasra & Family, $10-20, pre-pay below)
    3:00-5:00pm: Afternoon Session
    5:00pm -7:30pm: Group Dinner at Bangkok Thai Restaurant close by (each pays their own)
    7:30pm-9:30pm: Evening Dances (Open to the Public $20)

    Bio: Shabda Kahn, a direct disciple of the American Sufi Master, Murshid Samuel Lewis, has been practicing Sufism since 1969 and since 2001, is the Pir (Spiritual Director) of the Sufi Ruhaniat International, the lineage tracing from Hazrat Inayat Khan and Murshid Samuel Lewis. He is also the Spiritual Guide of the Dances of Universal Peace~ worldwide. Shabda has studied and performed North Indian Classical Vocal Music under the guidance of the late Master Singer, Pandit Pran Nath, since 1972. He is also a disciple of the illustrious Tibetan Master, the 12th TaiSitu Rinpoche. Shabda leads retreats and camps in Sufism with an emphasis on the mysticism of breath; the science and art of wazifa and zikr; music; the walking meditations of Murshid Samuel Lewis and opening the heart. He brings gentleness and humor in transmitting the rich lineage of Sufism.

    The evening Dances of Universal Peace is OPEN to all!

    If you haven’t attended the 1-day retreat the cost is: $20

    The Dances of Universal Peace are a participatory group spiritual practice facilitated by a Dance Leader. The Leader teaches the group the sacred phrase, music, and movements, and after a short practice, participants enter the Dance with live music and/or singing accompaniment. This “spiritual practice in motion” brings participants directly in contact with the depth of the sacred phrase, encouraging a direct encounter with the truth of it through music and evocative movement. The Dances affirm Life and Truth with body, heart, and soul, opening participants to nonverbal experiences of unity and ecstasy. This taste of our true nature—Universal Peace—opens us to the possibility of a deep spiritual transformation.

    Donations:  Rising Tide is the “home” of the Women’s Meditation Circle. We are committed to its care and respectful of the generosity of the center in allowing us to use it on Friday evenings. Therefore a donation of $10 is suggested – more if you can, less if you can’t. Rising Tide is a 501c3 organization so all donations are tax deductible.
