One of the most renowned Turkish musicians in North America, with a vast repertory that includes songs in classical, folk and Sufi mystic music styles, Latif accompanies his singing on the baglama (long-necked lute), and various other traditional instruments from the Turkish folk music tradition

He has recorded 4 very successful CDs over the past 8 years. All of his CDs presents truly traditional Turkish devotional music in addition to his own compositions on traditional Turkish mystic poets of the past centuries. He works as a preservationist of this traditional art form and life style as well. Co-author of the Turkish mystic Sufi poetry translations and anthology: “Quarrelling with God: Mystic Rebel Sufi Poems of the Dervishes of Turkey”.
