A Vision of the World

By Zan Benham

I have a Dream,
A Vision,
Born from the Void
Into the Heart
Of the World.

Of Children
Little ones,
All shapes, sizes
Forms and colors,
Born in Grace.

Weaned slowly
From mother’s breast.
Tendered,
Nurtured,
Protected,
In Nature’s flow
They grow
In the rhythm
Of her Heartbeat.

I have a Dream,
A Vision,
Born from the Void
Into the Heart
Of the World.

Of Children
Nurtured
By a community
Of Wise Elders,
patient, kind.

Of Seasons
of Life and Death
And perpetuity.

I have a Dream,
A Vision,
Born from the Void
Into the Heart
Of the World.

Resounding laughter
Of Children,
Infectiously
Permeating the air,
Kindling the hearts
Of those too old
To climb
the mountain’s crest.

Delighted,
Now they rest
And remember
darker days,
When they struggled
And overcame,
bringing forth
New Life,
New Hope,
New Vision,
Of Healthy,
Happy,
Wholesome,
Times
Of Earth Restored
In Balance,
And Peace
For the Seven Generations.

Of Creative Mind,
Who know to Love
With no condition.

I have a Dream,
A Vision,
Born from the Void
Into the Heart
Of the World.

Elders guide
the young ones,
lead them,
teach them,
Through history,
Science, math and physics
literature, art, music
and beyond.

Young minds
Flow free
In playful
Discovery,
where
Imagination
and Creation
open into
Magical
realms

Where
Earth Life
And Spirit
Become one,
In a flow

I have a dream,
A Vision,
Born from the Void
Into the Heart
Of the World.
